Joint Announcement on the Co-Organization of the 2025 Asian Vanguard Art and Design Award (AVADA)

From Asia to the world, from creativity to the future. Since its founding in 2023, the Asian Vanguard Art and Design Award (AVADA) has rapidly grown into a leading platform for emerging global talents in art and design. With its core values of professional credibility, international vision, fair evaluation, and implementation support, the award has become an influential competition in both the Asian and global creative design fields.

Review · 2023 Inaugural Launch

The inaugural edition in 2023, presented as the Asian Vanguard Art and Design Exhibition, garnered widespread attention beyond expectations, receiving over 3,700 entries from 18 countries and regions. Participants included universities, studios, and design institutions across the Asia-Pacific region, showcasing a wave of works rich in experimental spirit and cultural depth. The exhibition was held at the ASEAN International Convention Center via the Asia Design Week platform, gaining media coverage from institutions such as Tsinghua University Academy of Arts & Design and Faculty of Humanities and Arts, Macau University of Science and Technology, establishing the award's international reputation.

Growth · 2024 Expanding Across Regions

Submission volume surged significantly, with entries received from 43 countries and regions across five continents, marking an unprecedented rise in international influence. Alongside strong participation from major Asian organizations, the award attracted entries from world-renowned institutions such as Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Royal College of Art. The jury included outstanding designers and scholars from China, the US, UK, South Korea, Egypt, and more, creating a diversified and professional evaluation system. Winning entries have been showcased at numerous design weeks, design festivals, and university touring exhibitions across Asia, with in-person exhibitions drawing praise from international guests including presidents of global design organizations.

The award-winning works were also featured by prestigious universities, with related exhibitions and creative outcomes gaining media attention from Xinhua News, Hebei TV, and others. Many design magazines also published in-depth features, boosting the integration of design with industry, culture, and education — further affirming the award's professional value and social significance.

Launch · 2025 Global Call for Submissions Reopens

In 2025, the award aims to further strengthen the collective voice of Asian design and foster deeper international creative and cultural exchanges. This edition is co-organized by Asia Design Week and several leading design organizations across Asia and the Eurasian region.
